What to Expect when Getting a Physio Treatment?

Getting Started

Effective, Efficient, and Professional Care

PhysioCall is owned and managed by the therapist himself, Joshua Iaqiunto. He is the  most preferred physio in Gladstone and is getting a lot of referrals from his existing and old patients. He also successfully passed each and every requirement as set out in the provincial governing bodies. Patients can either book online or over the phone 0749620411.

Day 1

You will receive a thorough  assessment.  This allows our  physio to understand you and  your injury better in order to determine how we can help. Following the assessment, we will discuss with you the details of our findings, ask you what your goals and expectations are and from there map out a realistic treatment plan to help you gain maximum long-term results. All of your questions will be answered. Pain control and return to function are our top priority.

Day 2

This is the day where you will receive your first full treatment. We will first ask you how you reacted to the assessment to determine the level of  sensitivity of your injury. We  will also be discussing pain control techniques that you will be doing in between your visits to our clinic.  New treatment techniques and modalities will be initiated with an explanation of what the technique does and why it will be beneficial for you. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you’d like!

Subsequent Days

Typically, you should expect to  see pain decreasing in intensity  within the first 3-4 sessions.  However, your condition may  be very unique and fall outside  of these guidelines. We highly encourage you to discuss this with the physio. It may be determined during your treatment that other treatment options may be beneficial to your particular condition. We can ensure you receive the best care possible.

What are the payment options?

Depending on your choice, you can pay cash, credit or use a private health card(depending on the coverage). We also take EPC referrals (with gap fee depending on the length of your session). If you want to use WorkCover, you will have to pay the full amount in the clinic, after the session we will provide you a paid invoice and you will have to process your refund through WorkCover.

Tips For Sports Injury Prevention

by IRG

Often sports injuries are immediately evident, however, others can have slow and progressive onset that worsen over time. It is important to pay attention to both types of injuries, as chronic problems can and often do develop. Below, we offer some common warning signs that you may have incurred a sports injury.

Joint Pain:

Of most concern are the joints of the knee, ankle, elbow, wrist, and shoulder. Joint pain that last more than 48 hours may require a physio evaluation.

Tenderness at a Specific Point:

If you are able to elicit pain at a specific area in a bone, muscle or joint, it is possible you have a significant injury. Remember, it is important to compare the same spot on the other side of the body for evaluation purposes.

Swelling:

It is important to note that most sports injuries can cause swelling and this is a symptom that should never be ignored. While swelling is usually quite obvious, you may occasionally feel swollen without outward signs. Swelling may cause pain within a joint, stiffness, or could produce a clicking sound as muscle tendons snap over one another due to the pressure caused by swelling.

Reduced Range of Motion (ROM):

Often if swelling is not obvious, an injury may present as a reduced ROM in the joint. When there is significant swelling within a joint, you will lose ROM of that joint. Again, it is important to compare one side of the body with the other to identify differences.
Numbness and Tingling:

The symptoms of numbness and tingling are often related to nerve compression. These are warning signs that may indicate significant injury and should never be ignored. These warning signs may require a physio evaluation.

Immediate Treatment:

It is important to note that if you recognize any of the above warning signs, your goal is to prevent further damage, discontinue the sporting activity and do not let the problem get any worse. You want to begin treatment immediately using the RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) treatment method.

If you have experienced, or currently are experiencing any of these symptoms, consider seeking out a trained physio who can help with your symptom management.

Can you HELP me?
TELL ME YOUR ULTIMATE MASSAGE EXPERIENCE

By Joshua Iaquinto

Physiotherapy is great for injuries... but it's not always needed.

I just came back from BALI last month where I had 14 massages in 12 days.

I recognise how much of a hypocrite I am.
I look after everyone else but don't look after myself.

14 treatments in 12 days - I didn't realise how much I really needed relief too.

If anyone has ever received an awesome treatment from me and I complain about how I wish someone would do that for me and my body... well I still want that, I just didn't recognise how much I need it now.

Can you help me,  find or create the best massage in Gladstone,

I want to take care of myself and I want to take care you.

100% fill it out and submit this QUIZ and admin will call or SMS you to send you a REWARD.

Thanks in advance for filling it out - I appreciate it.
